Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Workers on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its recruitment of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, while his administration was creating barriers for other businesses wanting to do the same, an analysis released recently claimed.

According to information from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization aimed to bring in at least nearly 200 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of applications for temporary work visas covering staff including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the organization, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in 10 years that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at his Florida resort, according to labor statistics.

The disclosure coincides with a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has included the introduction of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the 55 million people who already hold American work permits; and tighter regulations for international scholars and reporters.

Overall, the business sought to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the five years the former president has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, Trump was criticized by certain in the Republican party this period for remarks defending the need for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a country is entering, going to invest billions to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a interviewer after she suggested that foreign workers undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
