Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A representative for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.
The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
